UP Police Constable Recruitment 2023 Overview
The Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment for 2023 aims to involve approximately 20 to 25 lakh candidates. A recent tender notice has been released, indicating a delay in the start of the application process.
Details of the Recruitment:
In the upcoming recruitment of 52,000 constables, positions will be available for various categories such as Civil Police, PAC (Provincial Armed Constabulary), Fireman, and Female Constables for the Women’s Battalion. The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPBPB) has issued a new tender notice on its official website uppbpb.gov.in, seeking bids from companies and examination agencies to conduct the recruitment examination. The recruitment’s detailed notification and online application process are expected to take more time due to the recent tender notice. The agency for conducting the recruitment will be selected through the tender process, following which the application, examination, and recruitment procedures will commence.
Anticipated Candidate Participation
The UPPBPB expects around 20 to 25 lakh candidates to participate in the upcoming constable recruitment examination. This is a significant increase from the previous announcement that indicated participation from over 20 lakh candidates. The examination will be conducted using offline mode (OMR sheets).
Responsibilities of the Selected Agency
The selected agency for conducting the recruitment examination will handle tasks such as online application processing, admit card issuance, document verification, physical standards testing (PST), biometric verification during document verification, preparation of the final selection list, and providing a helpline. The notice provides detailed information about these tasks for the agency conducting the recruitment examination.
EOI Submission and Address
Expressions of Interest (EOIs) can be submitted to sampark@uppbpb.gov.in by August 25, 2023. A hard copy of the EOI should also be sent to the address: Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, Tulsi Ganga Complex, 19th Vidhan Sabha Marg, Lucknow.
Awaiting the Notification for 52,000 Constable Recruitment
The notification for the recruitment of 52,000 constables in Uttar Pradesh Police for 2023 is still pending. Despite the earlier expectation of releasing the notification by mid-July, the delay caused by the request for new tenders suggests that more time will be required for the process. After the notification is issued, the official website of the UPPBPB, uppbpb.gov.in, will initiate the application process.
Qualification and Age Relaxation
The recruitment requires a minimum qualification of 12th grade (Intermediate). Currently, the age limit for constable recruitment is set at 18 to 22 years by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment Board. There’s a demand to extend the maximum age limit by three years, similar to recent changes in recruitment policies in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
